Civilization: a satirical journey from hell to heaven.

“Civilization by Marco Brambilla”: a satire on a journey from hell to heaven. Forgive me for posting this video. But it seems to be artistically provoking, intriguing.

The Face of Chosen One I: Ferocious Warrior, Intellect.

In politics, along with all other assets, charisma and looks seem to really matter to influence public’s opinion. If I imagine myself choreographing a presidency, I imagine myself to control a candidate’s wardrobe, hairstyle, skin , talking style, facial expression, body language, what to wear to where etc.). Along with all other impressive qualifications, our impressive, charismatic looking President seems to be naturally born with them (or not?). If there is going to be a movie about the Biography of Barack Obama in future, Pres. Obama could play the role of Barack Obama himself. As time goes by, admire him more…..Oh, later I tried to add some more pictures, but couldn’t, restricted. My silly admiration of Pres. Does it matter? This is just a silly blog of nothing particular.

President’s Birth Video Speech

President Obama’s Birth Video Rock in this video.

And here is verbally interesting, talented.

(wikipedia) In the 1998 U.S. House election, Anthony Weiner ran against Republican Louis Telano for the seat being vacated by Charles Schumer, who was running for the Senate seat held by Al D’Amato. Weiner defeated Telano by a margin of 66%–23%. He was re-elected in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010 never receiving less than 59% of the vote. [2] In the House, he is a member of the Committee on Energy and Commerce. He was an unsuccessful candidate for Mayor of New York City in the 2005 Mayoral election. A graduate of State University of New York at Plattsburgh (SUNY), Weiner was an aide to then-U.S. Representative Schumer (1985–91). He was a member of the New York City Council (1992–98).

Changing Human Mating & Institute of Marriage in Internet Era

There have been news reports of decreasing rates of marriage and increasing rates of non-legally binding co-habitation of couples in this country (following the European trend) and increasing age of first marriage that pushes towards 30 yrs old. It is amazing cultural and human health transformation nationwide considering that in early 1900 female reaching 20 years old were considered old close to grandma and up to 1980’s and 1990’s actresses who grew older past 24-25 years old were considered to be out of their prime time and getting out of jobs in movies. It is 2000’s that allowed actresses in 30s and 40s to claim for the primary roles in movies or other entertaining businesses.

Interesting demographic detail shows that couples of high school graduate or below tend to delay marriage because of financial insecurity, start  with cohabitation and have (unplanned) babies first and later consider whether to get married. On the other hand, college graduates tend to get married earlier than high school graduates (because of better financially security) and marry first before having babies. All these changing social phenomenon have huge potential of changing the nature of institute of marriage over time, which will also have implication on the society, including government taxations, the size of law, wedding, car, medical, housing, gift /household goods industries, for example.

Scrolling down the ladder from macro to microscopic aspect, the unlimited proliferation of internet dating sites/services have been changing human mating activities and marriage system beyond limits into complex 4th, 5th dimensions. The recently released movie, “no strings attached” also features an example of this changing human behavior. The current phenomenon is probably beyond imagination hundred years ago when lords ordered their queens to wear metal chastity underpants with locks (lords took keys with themselves) before going to wars so that they can make sure only their seeds to be planted on their queens. It brings the questions of functional design aspects of metal undergarments regarding the pivotal human biology of……

To scroll the ladder further down to micro microscopic, psychologists, shrinks or Hollywood observers in goship magazines have closely closely observed individuals’ search for opposite sex. I was reading an interesting book by Anne Teachworth. Here is interesting explanation of human behavior of selecting specific opposite sex:

“Fortune tellers say it’s fate that brings a couple together. Metaphysicians say it is a supersoul choice before birth. Song writers say it is the moon and the stars that bring lovers together. Astrologers say it is the Sun, Moon, or Venus and Mars. In “Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus”, John Gray says it is advanced communication skills that bring the two genders together. Perfume makers believe it’s pheromones. Researchers believe it’s hormones….Desmond Morris says it’s smiles, bright colors, and grooming gestures. Toothpaste makers say it’s all in having sparkling pearly whites. Old wives say, “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” New wives say, “It’s through his…..”

Here’s my favorite part: “Jungian Theory says a woman has her anima (female traits) more conscious in her personality and her animus (male traits) in her subconscious. A man has his animus traits (male traits) more conscious in his personality and his anima (female traits) in his subconscious. Jung said each of us has the other gender in our subconscious and will pick a mate that has the other side of our traits. He believed that a man seeks to marry a woman who matches his inner feminine side (anima) and a woman seeks to marry a man who matches her inner masculine side (animus). He said we seek our opposite, or shadow, for completion and wholeness.” Obviously, current existence of internet obviously complicates this human activity into beyond reasonable boundaries. (in progress)

Black Swan: Inofficial Review of Movie.

Recently, couple friend suggested to take turn on Friday-night-babysitting-parents-nightout.  As free babysitting is offered, had to do something. So, went out for a movie, Black Swan, weighing the beauty of it featuring ballerina world but my relative discomfort withthriller part. For the expert review of this critic’s acclaimed movie, refer to the following website:

http://movies.nytimes.com/2010/12/03/movies/03black.html?pagewanted=1

For non-expert’s review, I decided it was worthy to watch it. The movie well mixes up its selling points at box office – beauty, thrill, and dirty. Natalie Portman’s role as a ballerina Nina was super. She must have ballet background. The major part of the movie was beautiful, I liked it. (I liked the features and color matches of scenes overall, which is important part of movies to be impressive, I believe). The thriller part, I partially blocked my view or ears to get over with them. Once or twice let out relatively controlled, moderate, decent screams, wondering it was just me or there was another screamer in the theater. When the movie was over, apologetically smiled at a person beside me with a date who showed smiling inquiring look of screamer’s identity, and i quickly disappeared. It was overall worthy to watch.  “men 3 degrees warmer than woman?” hope so; new england stream in Australia. “beautiful women of africa”?; peril; ebsick.

Morrissey: Chinese People Are A ‘Subspecies’

Animal right should be protected. But, I am not sure whether that cause justifies Chinese to be called as subspecies. Sure, many chinese have not been culturally civilized (from western standard) or globalized regarding food or other related activities, and the bulk of that population still struggles to find whatever food and not to starve. They even go out to peel trees to eat tree barks or any kind of wild plants. Although China became the number 2 super economy, it’s the success story of riches, not poor that are in similar conditions as starving Africans.

if Chinese were “subspicies,” all ancestors of current races in ancient times or all hunting folks here must have been and must be “subspicies”, as they cruelly killed animals. Also it’s culture. If Chinese considered cows and pigs as their pets and only ate deers or rabbits, they would have criticized American for animal cruelty for eating beef and pork. Although it’s gross to talk about, what about those people in civilized world who had to eat their friends’ body to avoid starvation while waiting for rescue in extreme accidents? how are they being called?

You have anxiety disorder?

It is very unimaginable. You looked like you were on top of everything, very square confident, until the crumbling moment.

I didn’t say anything that may have stressed you in any possible, imaginable way. I probably utterred a few, unexpected words like (my) economy etc., but not in a way that would have given you any hint of stress or challenge to your profession.., or did I ? Overall, I thought I had the attitude of polite respect to your professionalism. Was it too much politeness or respect that made you awkward, nervous? (politely kidding; ok, by the way, why some part of this writing changed into itallic and I can not change it back to normal?; there are many mysteries I don’t quite get.)

whmmm….mysterious…political psychic…

Potentially, could i be a political psychic?

A few days ago, regarding the financial reform bill, it sounded like Harvard professor Elizabeth Warren is not going to be put in charge of heading the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)) as Treasury Secretary Geithner opposes to her (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/15/tim-geithner-opposes-nomi_n_647691.html). Now, within a few days, the tone in Washington DC has suddenly changed and Prof. Warren is most likely to become the new director of CFPB even without Senate confirmation (good for President and the country; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/19/elizabeth-warren-could-he_n_651759.html).

Within the same time period, my two Huffpost comments of a few days ago that “strongly, convincingly~~~~” suggested the positive political points of hiring Prof. Warren for the CPFB position and surrounding the administration with “public’s favored figures” for the sake of country disappeared from my Huffpost account site (though it is a very minor point~~; one of them was cross posted at http://mikyunglim.wordpress.com/2010/07/18/tim-geithner-opposes-nominating-elizabeth-warren-to-lead-new-consumer-agency/; whoooops, they reappeared again!). And yesterday’s (or today’s) NY time reported an article “Obama Signs Overhaul of Financial System” in which the picture shows President being surrounded by “Public’s Favored Figures”, watchdog Elizabeth Warren and former Fed Chair Volker.

Whwmmmm, mystery, mystery, …..Is it weather pararell universes or does it confirm my previous slight suspicion that I may be an accidental G0d-appointed political psychic, watchdog? woof woof !

The Chinese Aren’t Coming: “The Inofficial Reason of Chinese Militarily Not Attacking US.”

My argument: Does anybody fear for the potential military attack to US by China? I have to say that the Era of Military War has been shifted to the Era of Economic war. When? A or two decades ago maybe? When Russian and Chinese started busying themselves with business, commerce and earning money, the nature of “Communism” has changed into that of “Consumerism.”

Have you ever seen any (even communist) riches who yarn for wars to lose all their riches? How long Chinese have clinged to the low value of Yuan so that they can export more goods and earn more money? Do you think Chinese want to destroy their lucrative export markets?

At least, Chinese seem to be wiser than Wall Street Bankers; they don’t kill, don’t wipe out their lucrative market – money/business sources, but rather invest some money on it to prevent its collapse and secure their future harvest from it. Isn’t it wiser than Wall Street Bankers’ ruthless draining of any possible profits from their clients regardless of what will happen in future?

Inofficial reason of Chinese not coming; I heard that in NY or big cities, a lot of sons and daughters of Chinese government officials have attended expensive US universities. Although China’s hourly wage used to be far less than 50 cents per hour years ago, these governments officials often earned huge sum of money through bureaucracy and able to finance their kids to attend most expensive universities in US, live in most expensive US cities and the kids would usually wear Gucci suits, nothing less than that. And I heard that most Chinese people in US (same as Indians), although their appearance may look clumsy and poor, have strong political connections in China that enabled them to come to US.

I don’t think Chinese govt officials will wage war with US to jepadize their kids’, relatives exciting life in US. And who wants to kill their money source?

Weirdest, Scariest Night.

Last night was the weirdest, scariest day I have ever had. It started from my noticing that my car was running out of gas while I was driving busy highway. My husband didn’t fill in gas after driving the car. It was unfamiliar highway and I didn’t know where to find a gas station. Even if I find one and fill the gas, to be sure, I wouldn’t know how to get back to the same road again in this complicate highway system.

I called my husband to give me direction to a gas station and further direction from there to my destination. At the gas station, I got hit by BMW (some bruise, no major organ damage; thank God that it happened at a gas station, not in driving street), and a strange man following, asking me lower my car window and asking my name, at which I acted busy on phone and drove away.

Within five minutes after that, out of nowhere, suddenly it started raining so heavily, along with thunderstorms and lightenings. I couldn’t see anything through car window because of heavy rainfall. A few minutes later, my older daughter said that she saw lightening hitting cars. I thought she misunderstood something. But, after driving for a minute, as all the cars were driving so slowly or almost standing still, I was slowly driving into area where multiple lightenings swiped the street, hit trees, street poles, street signs, and traffic lights. The debrises were all around. It was not just one spot. It was the whole area into which I was driving in. I didn’t know how to get out of there, being pushed by cars behind, and being afraid of getting lost if I try to make turns somewhere. I had no way but kept driving into that dangerous area. It felt like I may get hit by lightening any moment while heavy rain was blurring vision. And hail was loudly hitting my car and flooding. And, after sometime, I realized that I was driving into wrong direction, got lost in unknown area.

During all this, my two kids were in extactic condition, hilariously enjoying each others’ company and laughing, having fun. I almost suspected whether they were suffering from hormone imbalance to be in that extactic mood despite that horrible whether.

I was thinking, “Were all these just pure coincidences?, or someone above is telling me that I am not doing right?” I try to live honestly. But it doesn’t necessarily guide things into right way. I wish thenre’s someone who can tell exact guideline of how to live, do things right all the time. So I don’t have to constantly question myself whether I am doing right or wrong.
